After several years, I’ve finally decided to create a website for my low brass studio. While a work-in-progress, I want this to be a useful resource for you all. Features of this website that I think will be of particular use are:

1.) Lesson Schedule

Rather than having to type out all of my availability via email, I thought it would be useful for everyone to have access to my exact lesson schedule each week. This way, prospective students can see exactly what time slots are available to them, and current students can see what alternative times are available if they need to reschedule.

2.) Reference Recordings

This is something I’ve really wanted to have for a long time. Having reference recordings for your current practice projects are so incredibly important. For the younger students who are still developing their ear and music-reading abilities, hearing how something goes can super-charge their practice sessions beyond belief. For the more advanced students who are having to start dealing with things like compound meters, tricky intervals and even different clefs entirely, hearing it first can likewise be a cheat-code. The “Reference Recordings” tab is where you will find a link to the Dropbox folder where I post recordings of me playing your current projects, from simple scale tests to high school All-State etudes.

3.) Newsletter

I thought having a weekly newsletter might be a neat way to keep everyone updated on more logistical things like calendar updates (days I’ll be gone, etc…) and more fun things like highlighting student successes. This would be something you can subscribe to, so you can choose whether or not to receive these.

In Conclusion

That’s it for now. Ultimately, as mentioned above, I want this to be as great a resource for y’all as possible so please, by all means, forward me any ideas you have regarding things that you would like to see here and I’ll work on making it happen. While I do have my own practicing/performing part of my life, teaching is such a meaningful and significant thing for me which I prioritize over all else as a musician. Therefore, I want to continue helping you and your students get the most out of their musical education.

Stay tuned as this site continues to the develop!
